Spring is officially here, and so is the pollen! Hope you're ready for both!
As part of her work with the US Fish and Wildlife Service's Inventory and Monitoring Networkt, Becky Bartel taps into existing citizen science programs to expand more pollinator monitoring surveys in the Southeast, as well as locally. June 18-24 is National Pollinator Week, and to promote awareness and outreach, USFWS participates in a program called the Pollinator Challenge that runs from mid-April to October 31.
Join Becky to learn about opportunities associated with the Pollinator Challenge and how these activities tie into several different citizen science projects such as Monarch Watch, Nature's Notebook, Project Budburst, and BeeSpotter, to name a few.
Make pollen your friend, not just an allergen! For more information, check out this web site: http://www.fws.gov/pollinators/. Hope to see you all there!
Please RSVP by sending an email to obxgreendrinks@gmail.com so we know how many people will be joining us for the program!
