May Monthly Mingle

It's time for our May get-together, so come on out to Waverider's Coffee and Deli at their new place in Nags Head on Wednesday evening, 5/13, at 7:00 pm.

Waverider's still has their awesome sandwich/wrap menu, as well as a nice selection of muffins and pastries.  In addition to the coffee drinks, sodas, and juices, etc., they're now offering draft and bottled beers (domestic and imported), as well as wines by the bottle and the glass.  Check out their web site at www.waveriderscoffeeanddeli.com for more information.

May's topic: Learn about the NC Coastal Federation's project that pays commercial fishermen to remove abandoned fishing gear (mostly crab pots) from local waters, while re-purposing a portion of the found gear into suitable oyster habitat.  This cleanup project has been ongoing for two years, involving the local community in marine debris removal, as well as fostering cooperation between different groups, including scientists, fishermen, non-profit organizations, and local residents.

Join us on Wednesday for a great learning experience!  Please RSVP by responding to this message or by sending an email to obxgreendrinks@gmail.com so we know how many people will be joining us. Bobbie would appreciate knowing how many people to expect so she can plan her staffing.
